Thanks, Dan. I have been reading an advanced copy of Never Worry About Money Again and cannot recommend it enough. It has me reflecting on how my own money worries before YNAB influenced the people I love most in ways I never intended.
Before YNAB, I was buried in debt. Almost every purchase came with the same question: Can I afford this? Or, should I be spending money on this at all?
Fast forward to last week. I was on vacation with my adult son when an opportunity came up to do something he really wanted to do. Before deciding, he asked, “I want to, but how much does it cost?”
Hearing those words took me back. I recognized that voice immediately because it used to be mine.

Have a great break!
Wow, Joe that's really interesting to hear. If you feel comfortable sharing, how did some of your own money worries influence the people you love?

Yeah, the quick leap from "can I afford this?" to "should I even be spending money at all?" That's painful.
(Mine made me much more irritable with my partner whenever the subject of money or even planning for our future came up.)
